Windows update tells me i have to install Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130) before i can download any more updates. the problem is it fails to install. So i`m stuck. Does any one know how to resolve this ?
I`m using win XP service pack 2 preinstalled on a medion pc.Up to now i`ve never had any problems updating.

Start, Run, type in

services.msc

and click OK.

Scroll down to Windows Installer and double click on it. If it isn't running, click on Start, then try the update again.

Not running Norton internet security by any chance,
could be the cause of your problem ,there are known conflicts......
