Windows update dodgy?

Today I found the usual Windows update icon in my

system tray. I downloaded the update only to find I

was having problems and error messages etc. I did

try to remove the update via add remove programs but

could not find the update in the list. So I used

system restore. All seems to be well with my

computer now but the update history says I have

downloaded the update successfully and the

Windows update icon has returned to the system

tray. Should I now re try to install the update

from the system tray again or just forget about it? The update is XP(KB 925902)

I re downloaded the update only to find I was getting the same error message.

So I then clicked on the link given by Nellie2. I followed the rather

convoluted instructions on the link and all now seems to be well.

My only advice to others with this problem would be to use Nellie2 link

but read all instructions and be careful. As something of a newbie

I found it all rather hair_raising. But it worked so thanks to all.
