Windows STOP command on crash...

Hey everyone. Hope someone can help me. I've had a virus infestation which I was 90% of the way to cleaning on a Windows XP home network.

One of these viruses used a program called uvchost.exe which started by (very cleverly) adding itself to the explorer.exe value in the Shell entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.

This uvchost.eve file launched a file called l33t which tried to connect to the internet (unsuccessfully).

I modified the Shell entry, deleted uvchost.exe and ran a virus checker, and I’m clean of that. However, whenever I try to connect to the internet (broadband, pipex) as soon as it ‘registers my computer’ we crash.

I disabled auto restart and the STOP command was:

0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0XFF8DB02E, 0XF3A6C3EO, 0X00000000)

Which has got my flummoxed. I know 8E is a Kernel Mode Exception not Handled error but the next addresses have me baffled. I presume they’ll point me in the direction of the file / service / driver / dll I need to restore.

Any ideas?
