  piggylen 16:56 23 Oct 2009

I have a message on my computer saying "Resident Shield Alert" telling me that I have an infected file. When I ask it to "heal" it, I get another message saying "The virus vault has reached the maximum file count limit" How do I empty the virus vault????
Thank you
PS I have done a deep scan with Malwarebytes, which found 5 infected files. I deleted these but this is still coming up!!!

It should be in C-AVG-vault. Any virus is quite safe in there and you can delete any you find in the vault.

Open AVG,Click on History, then click on virus vault. Then empty it. I did have a false positive a few days ago - it thought Malawarebytes was an infectin for a few hours.

Fix is to remove the AVG vault folder , follow the below steps

1.Since this folder is hidden to view it in Windows Explorer ,

open My computer >Tools>Folder options>view>show hidden files and folders .

2.Find $AVG8.Vault$ folder in all hard drives and delete it.

That’s it, problem is solved you won’t face this error from AVG in future.
