Windows repair virus

My wifes computer has contarcted the windows repair virus and i need help to fix it her machine is an Evasham with amd chip set 2gb memory 150gb hard drive running widows Vista home edition. I have had great difficulty trying to ant-virus to work. I purchased stopzilla and although it finds the infection it has not clened it. I cannot get Trend micro home sacn to work. Can anyone help
P.S. I do not use Vista myself so I do not know how to get at registry and other information systems in vista.

On another thread with same virus (although it's for XP) 'Nontek'
gives a link click here which tells you how to remove it. If you scroll down to the comments at bottom of page some have used it on Vista.

Suggest you download the free programs you need on another computer and save them to a usb pen drive so that you can install them on the infected pc when you need them.
