WINDOWS NO DISK on start up

  norguy 20:58 21 Sep 2006

On starting my PC with windows XP2 a box appears with the heading "WINDOWS-NO DISK' and saying THERE IS NO DISK IN THE DRIVE. PLEASE INSERT A DISK INTO DRIVE underneath it says CANCEL : TRY AGAIN : CONTINUE. This appears as many as eight times on each start up and is tedious to keep removing same before computer will start.
Any suggestions please

May be a silly question but have you left a blank CD or DVD disk in the CD/DVD drive.

Try putting a cd in the drive and let windows discover it and then cancel whatever it offers to do and eject the cd by right click and select eject
