Windows Movie Maker problem

Tried to open Movie Maker for the first time on this PC (WinXp SP2) but always comes up with following message.

C:\Program Files |Movie Maker\WMVCore.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.

Anyone explain what to do next?

Thanks Sethhaniel tried your suggestion, but didn`t fix it.

The full message window is titled
"moviemk.exe Bad Image"

Message: The application or DLL C:\Program Files |Movie Maker\WMVCore.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette

Looked in the program files and movie maker\WMVCore is there. but there dosen`t seem to be a moviemk.exe file?

moviemk.exe is the start prog in the C:\Program Files\Movie Maker

do you have extension of common hidden it could just show up as moviemk with an icon of reel of film 3,472KB in size

Yes the real of film icon is there and titled moviemk, however mine is only 3.39Mb

WMVCORE appears in both my windows.system 32 folder and my movie maker prog file

Just gave that a go Marsh Warden, but still the same message when I try to open Moviemaker.

Yes I`ve seen this, it says that moviemaker 2.1 is available with SP2 which I`ve already got
