Windows Media Player won't start

  si_gone 12:38 23 Feb 2008

Logged into windows as me, I have no problems starting Windows Media Player (10 or 11). When my wife logs in, WMP won't start at all. I just get an error message with no clues why there is a problem. I've rolled back to an earlier version, but it still doesn't work. Any ideas? I am running XP Home.

On your wife's account, check the Event Viewer for any errors in the Software log. Start/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/Software. Post the event id and source this will help in finding the problem.

has the wife set it as default player, looks like you have tried a delete and reinstall. so try SFC /SCANNOW in the run command box.
