windows media player 9

I recently updated - via the microsoft update site - media player from version 8 to version 9.

Since this update I cannot get sound out of the right hand channel of any externally connected speakers or headphones. The left channel plays perfectly. This applies to audio cd and dvd.

I have other cd audio and dvd players installed and they work perfectly. However I prefer the use windows media player. Any ideas please.

I have checked any option/setting that I am aware of. Microsoft help/support offer no solutions.

Thanks in advance

Have you checked the 'Balance' setting on the View, Now Playing Tools, Graphics Equaliser?

You could use system restore to go back to version 8 and confirm it works OK in that then download and install it again.
