Windows ME Format

  Blacki 09:38 13 Apr 2005

I am trying to repair a friends pc that runs Windows Me. I have come to the conclusion that a full format is the only option.
But i don't have a startup floppy. It seems to be different to other OS that i have used. Would you reccommend changing to a different OS.
Hopefully you can help.

Set it to boot from cd.

I have tried that but it doesn't give me an option to format it. I need to completly wipe the HD to be on the safe side

You can make a start up disk from within ME - see here for how click here

Make sure it has the FDisk program on it - if necessary copy that from the Command folder in the Windows folder.

If that is not possible, you can download and create a disk from click here
