Windows Mail print problem

  Peter B 11:43 17 Dec 2008

When I print an e-mail document in Windows Mail it is shifted off to the left on the page so that the first three or four characters don't print. How can I correct this?

I should add that all other documents (e.g. Word, Excel, PDFs) print absolutely fine. It is only with Windows Mail that the problem occurs.

My operating system is Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1 installed.

Grateful for any suggestions.

Additional info:

I've now discovered that the same thing also happens when I print a web page. But everything else prints correctly.

Does the page look correct on Print Preview? And if you select Page Setup what do your left and right margins show?

Thanks, Sea Urchin. I have in the meantime resolved the problem thanks to a very helpful suggestion on another website where I posted the problem (click here -- highly recommended, by the way!)

"In Internet Explorer click File > Page Setup

(In IE7 you have to press the ALT key to show the menu)

The default setting for the margins should be 19mm all round

The printer settings will also affect Outlook Express and Windows Mail so one fix should do all."

This did the trick.

That was exactly why I asked you what your default settings were for the margins on Page Setup.....

glad you got it sorted anyhow
