Windows Mail - Exporting and Importing messages

Some folders were getting full so I exported the messages to a folder on the desktop and deleted the originals.

Now I need to import some back, but find they have been saved as .eml and they won't import. I gather they should be .csv format, so how can I import them now?

Copy them back to:

C:\Users\<yourusername>\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders\Inbox (or which mail folder they belong in).

...in the final brackets I meant "whichever mail folder..."

Thanks. I've found a work around. I open the exported folder and highlight all the messages. Then I drag and drop them into the correct folder.

I find they are always saved as .eml.

.eml is the standard extension for Windows email files. Glad you've solved the problem.
