whenever I try to click on a link from any email,I'm denied access and message appears in an enclosed box with the wording :-"this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.
P.S I have windows vista

Windows doesn't know which program to use to open the file that you're clicking on.

That may be a good thing, especially if the file is an attachment, and is malicious. What exactly are these links that you're trying to open?

Could it be friends are sending funnies in either excel or powerpoint in which case you will have to purchase microsoft office or I think these can be opened in the latest Open Office 3.1 from click here+

in order to view files created in it - you can download Office file viewers free of charge from Microsoft.
