Windows Live Messenger Updating Issue

I'm trying to sign onto Windows Live Messenger this morning and using version 8.5.1302.1018 using Windows XP x64 Edition.

Its not letting me sign on because

"A Newer version is avialble You Must Install the newer version in order to continue would you like to do this now"

It won't let me download it because I'm on x64 edition.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing but still the same problem.

Any Ideas?

From click here is this:

August 25, 2009 - Install the latest version of Messenger.

You need to install the latest version of Messenger. It includes security updates to help keep you and your friends safe online while you chat.

Starting September 15, 2009, users are required to have the latest version of Messenger installed on their computer in order to sign in and continue using the Messenger service. To download the latest version of Messenger, go to the Windows Live Messenger website.
