Windows Live Messenger and Remote Assistance

I'm having trouble with the Remote Assistance, I request my connect for help, he accepts, and then nothing else happens.

How can I get Remote Assistance Working again??

-Have you tried going through start>help and support>tools>remote assistance?

-Your firewalls could be interfering. Both of you either need to configure them to allow the assistance or temporarily disable them.

-sometimes installing msn messenger helps 'not the latest version' new programs are always a little shifty at first

It gets "Host Name Could not be resolved"

The error you received means that remote assistance is not getting a response from the pc you are trying to connect to. I am guessing one or both of you have an external router, cable/dsl modem. Here is a link that should be helpful in resolving the problem. There is help with firewall conf in there as well. Firewall interference is usually to blame.
