Windows Live

I downloaded the full Windows Live, decided I only wanted Messenger.
Uninstalled the lot with Revo Uninstaller.

On reinstalling Messenger only I am told I have all the programs that I uninstalled, and not allowed to proceed. Is there a way please?

I have Skype, but need Messenger for one person who can’t download Skype.

why not try yahoo messenger?

Use system restore then uninstall all via programs and features except messenger.

I have all the programs back.

Following the uninstall instructions from the Windows Live Site for Windows XP.

In Add/Remove, select/highlight Windows Live Essentials, click Change/Remove, highlight goes for a second, and then returns me to the highlighted Windows Live Essentials.

Not any change or uninstall options as stated.

Where to from here please?

how did you get on with my 19.57 posting of 23rd?

  fifty-and-some 21:52 24 Feb 2011

C:\Program Files\Windows Live\installer\wlarp.exe

The file is there, but nothing happens.

If nothing else can I stop Live Mail dictating that it is my default email please?

Thank you johnnyrocker but yahoo messenger is not an option in this instance.

Just click the start button and then default programmes. And then set your default programmes.

Thank you for your help.

I think I have reached the stage of just enough knowledge to be dangerous.
