Just bought brand new Dell PC with XP and Norton Internet security.

Every time it starts up windows installer comes up and holds up getting access to the desktop etc.

I dont know if it is connected, but i also get a warning that Norton doesn't support repair and should be reinstalled ?

Again dont know if this is connected but everytime i restart i need to set up my default porgrammes like outlook, explorer and media player etc.

My mian point is the first one, but i suspect the others are connetced

"everytime i restart i need to set up my default porgrammes like outlook, explorer and media player etc." - what do you mean, exactly?

Basically i get a message telling me outlook is not my default programme etc. when i go into start, set defaults all the settings are showing as " use my current web browser/email programme" etc. If i then go to the custom option and tick outlook or express for example it does not take place, as if i then go back in to custom sectionit goes back to shwoing "use current etc etc.

thanks for your reply
