Windows Installer - Sonic Activation Module

On every boot-up windows installer commences and prepares to install a programme called sonic activation module. Eventually the following appears "the feature you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or other removeable disc that is not available. Insert the sonic activation module disc and click ok". I cancel this and the following appears "An installation package for the product Sonic Activation Module cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package 'Activate MSI'".

My PC is quite new and I have tried every disc I have installed without success. Any advice?

Every time I reboot my computer a window comes up saying:

"Please wait while Windows configures Sonic Activation Module"

Then another message:

"An installation package for the product Sonic Activation Module cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package ‘Activate.MSI’."

I can't bypass this window and would prefer not to as I think the same problem is related to why I suddenly cannot play movie DVD's on my computer as problems started at the same time. Any help to correct this problem would be appreciated.
