Windows Installer Problems

  russraine1 16:28 20 Aug 2006

Last week I reinstalled Windows XP. This time I used one of those programs which you can add service pack two and your drivers etc to the install disk so that they're all included at the same time, rather than installing them all manually.

Basically my problem is that Windows Installer doesn't seem to be working very well, most programs and security updates I try to install, just end up hanging, either right at the beginning of the install, or right at the end.

Any one had the same problem and know what to do.

Try installing WI again before, but it did not help.

I did download the Windows program which is meant to 100% erridcate Windows Installer from your pc, but it says you have to reinstall all applications which used it to install itself, which is pretty much everyhting, so don't wanna do that if I can help it :-)
