Windows Installer Problem.

I am trying to insatll OFFICE PRO 2003 on my XP machine.

However i get the error message saying something like "windows cant insatll this program as there is a porblem with Windows Installer. Either you are in SAFE MODE or Windows Installer hasnt been installed correctly"

The installer i got from Microsofts website click here

Is this the right one? If so what am i doing wrong?

The error is probably the result of a damaged registration service. To resolve it :-
1. Start, Run and type cmd
2. Type msiexec /unregister (note the space) and press Enter
3. Type msiexec /regserver (note the space) and press Enter

And/or download the Windows Installer clean-up utility from click here;en-us;290301

After 5 years on this Forum, I still forget the format for posting a Microsoft KB url.

Sorry, someone will correct it, probably VOG.
