Just spent an hour trying to find a driver for an old graphics card, only to find that W98 already had it... is there a way to see a list of the drivers pre-installed on ANY windows o.s ??

Run the Add Hardware Wizard from Control Panel and then select "Let me choose the driver to install" or something like that. Then you can see alist of the drivers. Left hand pane shows manufacturers and the right the models.

If you get WinDrivers Backup from click here you can collect all your drivers to one place for future use. Never have to go searching for discs and wotnot again. Very useful bit of kit to have.

Did that Grummet handy thing ... what I really meant was is there somewhere in Windows I can see a list of drivers which are available if needed for example I found that a driver for an old 4meg Matrox graphics card was in my hard drive somewhere. I take jesters point about the add hardware thing, but it would be handy to have a list to refer to before rummaging about driversguide et.al
