I have the dreaded blue star on my taskbar and a notification saying my copy of Windows (XP Pro) isn't genuine but - IT IS!XP Pro was installed on the machine when I bought it, I have the CD and the certificate. What is Microsoft playing at???Can anyone please tell me how to rectify this nonsense?cheers
Hi, is this any help?click here
Go to this link click here it should eneble you to solve your problem.
Thanks both.I went to the Microsoft site and ran the diagnostics - all seemed fine (so it should be!).I then rebooted and it told me again that it was counterfeit and offered a 'Get Genuine' button, so I clicked that and nothing seemed to happen. So, I rebooted again and the Counterfeit warning has gone! I guess (for now) that the problem is solved.thanks again.
