Hi all,

Everytime i open windows explorer, ie go into control panel or my pictures etc i get a message saying windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to shut and this quite often leads to XP hanging thereafter. This is also happening with Acrobat Reader.

I have norton anti virus and Spyware doctor both running and they are not picking up any problems. :(

Anyone any idea how to sort this please?

Start, Run, type

sfc /scannow

and click OK. You may be asked to insert your Windows CD.

Thanks VOG, i have done that and it seems to have solved the explorer problem.

Acrobat reader still giving same message. I have tried downloading it again but no joy. Any tips on that?

This Windows explorer problem has resurfaced. I have tried the scannow option again but that isn't sorting it now.

Any other ideas?

Its annoying as hell!
