hya ppl please can someone help me here. all of a sudden i keep getting the following message and cant get rid or fix it Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvinience. if i click onto the for more information i get the following.

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: shell32.dll
ModVer: 6.0.2800.1106 Offset: 00032890

i have windows xp home edition and have tried to restore but it continues to happen. can someone please advise me.

thanks vog but i dont have that downloaded onto my system. it was working ok and it just went tits up with that message and now its there all the time. if i click to close my desk top refreshes and i get the message again.

Your problem is something to do with Windows Media Player 9 Autoplay and only affects XP. I,m sorry I don't know the remedy but if you can access a programme called Bigfix it has the solution.

Go to start>run and type in the window sfc /scannow and have your xp disc at the ready.
