About 3 times in the space of an hour explorer has crashed, it usally happend when ie and wmp are open at the same time, i am surfing the net while listening to music, xp is meant to be multitasking and explorer can't seem to handle more then one application open at the same time, there is nothing of intrest in the event viewer and I have NIS 2003 and NAV 2003 all up to date, no viruses, as well as ad aware, spybot and spywareblaster all up to date no nasties on my system, this hasn't happened this frequent before, i have winows xp home, should I be very worried, is it my hard disk on it's last legs, hope not it's only two years old, i think it's a maxtor 40Gb, hope someone can help, or reassure me that everything ok, regards, Rhuddlan.

you don't say how much memory you have it may well be that you haven't got enough to run all the applications you want to at the same time

Sorry, I have 256Mb of RAM and a 1.7ghz athlon xp processor.

you may well find its a memory issue 256Mb doesn't do much in a modern day pc, double it up to 512Mb and i think you will solve your problem
