Try this, type windows dvd in the search box. In the list right click and send to (create a short cut) desktop. Left click and hold the short-cut, drag over start, drag over all programs (wait to open) and drag to the list where you want it.

Do you have the short-cut icon on the desktop now?

Does it show when you search for it?

No it dont show,Looking at this laptop the snipping tool has also vanished,Maybe a scannow sfc might be worth a go.

Have a look in Programs and features and select 'Turn Windows features on or off'. In the box that opens make sure a tick is in the box for 'Media Features'. If you expand that it should show a tick for Windows DVD maker. As for the sipping tool make sure there is a tick in the box for 'Tablet PC Components'.

Answer

Thanks for the feedback. Possibly Windows didn't quite load properly and a reboot might have cured it. Anyway, you've sorted it out now - good one.
