Hi,

I dont know what the matter with the software is. but when i try to make a dvd with the new windows dvd maker it tells me that the files are corrupt or are invalid. The files are in the format of .avi but they cannot be played unless you have the divx codec installed. could this be the problem?

if it is can anyone please tell me of some software that I can use to convert to a format that will work.

or if not can it be something else

urgent help is required for this as it is for members of the family

Thanks
Ben

I don't have Vista yet, so can't be sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if they have to be in WMV format, Internetwhizzkid. You can convert your AVIs to WMV format using Windows Movie Maker.

If it was XP we're talking about, I would tell you to download and install the K-lite Codec pack click here that will install most of the codecs you'll ever need. Then use something like DVDFlick click here to encode and burn to DVD.
