windows download 0% for days

My laptop often (not always) takes a long time to fully download windows updates (the little yellow shield that pops up in the bottom right hand corner) but it has been attempting several times to download the latest updates for the last 5 days and stays at 0%.

I'm using Windows XP Home on a broadband connection.

Any ideas please, or should I just be patient?

Try running a manual update. Then download them one at a time until you have them all updated. There may be one that gives you problems the others should download Ok.

Go to the MS Update Page and download them manually. click here

Shouldn't take that long. What's the point of Automatic Updates if you have to do them manually - give DialAFix a try; click here
