Windows Desktop Search

I made a mistake by deleting all my $NTUninstall from C:/Windows. I needed to uninstall IE Beta 2 but couldn't because I had deleted all the files. I find I have the same problem with Windows Desktop search Version 5.1 build 2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.5301-1519:sevice pack2

Update 02-06-5000.5378

If anyone could send me the ntspunist file I would be most greateful.

I should have said that crx1600
kindly sent me the file needed to uninstall, I hope that someone can do the same for this. Like IE it does not appear in add/remove and you cannot install over it, to get at uninstall that way.

Oh Dear!
I am watching this thread because I also did what I understood to be a hot fix uninstall progs.clean out. But it also took out other uninstalls as well.
crx1600 got me out of trouble as well.

Lettervanman, yes I have now learned my lesson but a bit too late.
skidzy thanks but I'm afraid the only thing that will get me out of trouble is the missing file. You cannot install over the top, and you cannot uninstall without the missing file.
So I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Maybe this could help RP click here

If ive read correctly maybe a total uninstall if possible and reinstall could solve the the issue.

Im just guessing and learning RP,so forgive me if im totally wrong :-)

  skidzy 22:39 03 Jul 2006

oops sorry just read your last post, maybe the last link is no good then...

  skidzy 22:54 03 Jul 2006

RP am i right in saying the file is located on sp2 and if possible would a reinstall of sp2 fix the problem.

Still trying :-)
