So far on my system i have

Thank you.

The windows defender program has a real time protection element so I would say that you should add it to your list.

Have a look at click here - Defnder is far from problem free.

Doesn't clash with Spybot doesn't do much either

It seems to do what it says, I have had no problems.

Ad-aware & spybot do a good job for free behind Norton Internet Security for me - nothing else needed. You just need to run regular scans if your firewall isn't realtime checking.

I've had one problem with it conflicting with a Spybot update.

I use Windows Defender and AVG without a firewall and have had no problems at all.

Thanks for your advise.

I still unclear if spybot is also a real time protection.
cheers

Spybot has an "Immunise" function which works in the same way as SpywareBlaster....that is it adds entries to the registry which fool malware into thinking it's already installed.

So no,Spybot does not have a true real time protection mode.....but it will block some nasties from installing.
