WINDOWS DEFENDER (BETA 2) DOES IT WORK ?

Hello
I down loaded 'windows defender beta 2 and installed.
I tried a quick scan. It started and then froze and I had to shut down my PC.
Has any one any experience with this programme?
I raised the matter with Microsoft and they reminder me that it is in beta form with very little technical support.
I am running Zone Alarm and wonder if the two programmes are compatible.
Any comments please.
Thank you

Yep, always freezes the pc when I try to scan. Have decided to leave it alone for the time being. There should be no trouble with compatibility.

I run both ZoneAlarm and Defender beta 2. Both recently installed due to complete reformat. No problems yet, and seems to work okay.

My previous installation had ZA and beta 1, and I could never get them to work right, so eventually removed beta 1.

Thanks for comment.
A further question if I may?
Does defender do much the same as zone alarm?

No defender is antispyware Zonealarm is a firewall

My defender scans ok but comes up with errorss when deleting found nasties.

ZoneAlarm is a firewall, similar to the XP firewall. ZA is ingoing/outgoing. XP firewall is ingoing only. Do not run two firewalls together, otherwise you may have problems.

Defender is an 'anti' programme. Anti spyware, adware etc. Not anti-virus though.
