Hi Guys
Please can anyone help me. Am running WIN XP SP2
Have had a problem with my HP all-in-one printer software. Followed instructions provided by HP for uninstalling and reinstalling and have caused a corruption of Windows. Restore fails as cannot find necessary files.
Sincerely hope someone can help me - I can back up to a slave drive but the idea of a complete reinstall horrifies me - I am not that knowledgable.

Have retrieved following from log files:

Wbemess.log

Do you have XP CD?

IF so, try a repair installation:

PS Instaed of a second thread, you could paste extra info as a reply to your own thread.

try start/run and type in (with the space) sfc /scannow and insert disk when asked for any corrupt/missing files to be replaced.
ps will it work in sfe mode?

Posting all this is of no use here...

Put in your XP CD and select the repair option when it loads...

Follow the prompts, you will not loose any data this way.

But, before you do this. Uninstall any HP software and drivers then reinstall it, check your cables are not damaged and try it again...

Have tried to uninstall printer software before going into Windows Repair.
Add/Remove removed the "updates" but will not remove the program. Any suggestions?
