Windows 98SE Shutdown problems

  CDL 23:22 03 Mar 2003

I do not have the option to 'Disable Fast Shutdown' and I am experiencing continual problems trying to shut down 98se.-I don't get the 'It is now safe....... screen.
Any links to the remedial patch would be appreciated.

Antivirus monitor is usually the culprit for these problems.

However, there are many possible causes.

Have you got Norton Antivirus?

add ;en-us;Q238096 to the click here link. it does not seem to be putting all of the address in the link

Does 98SE usually show the "It is safe..." screen? I've never seen it on my computer. I very occasionally get the "Windows is shutting down", and I've got fast-shutdown disabled.

Do you mean the patch from Microsoft? If you do I could email it to you, or you can get to it from click here

the links to display properly so you'll probably have to copy & paste it. It should take you to a page where you can download the patch.
