I tried the MaxPhysPage=30000 and several other ways to make my 98se run with 1Gb of RAM.Unfortunately none of the methods worked, although there are folk(here in PCA)that are able to run with loads more than 512Mbs,so it might be worth your while trying out a few.My 98se install would boot and run happily along for hours, until I tried to actually DO something with it.Apps refused to install,or installed but didn't actually work.My graphics card driver(NVidia)wouldn't hold its settings, games(if they would run)were slow, etc. My scanner(which only has a 98se driver)kept stating that 240Gbs wasn't big enough space to store its images, which were only a few Mbs in size.

It kept me smiling, wondering what strange error it was going to throw up next, but as a usable PC....forget it.Stay with 512Mbs,or upgrade to XP. ;-)

There is no limit to the amount of memory for Win98SE but anything over 512mb won't make any difference. So, I suppose you would be wasting money if you bought more than 512mb.

which is simple to do if following Crucial instructions, they will email them to you. There is occassions the BIOS may need to be updated.

More about the machine or Motherboard would assist.

As above Cacheman will manage memory better than 98se
