I am having trouble with my computer freezing, when crt/alt/del are pressed I receive the message Msgsrv not responding. Any ideas ?
Msgsrv32 is the windows message server program and has been described as the computer's equivalent of an air traffic controller.Blue screens and freezing with reference to msgsrv are common and could be due to a variety of reasons too many to list.Sorry not very helpful I know - but you are not alone.
Try running SFC it mat find a corrupt file. Put your win98 disc in and run SFC from Run box under start
Hit wrong key may not mat
Please forgive me, but what is SFC?
System File Checker.Go to Run, type SFC or sfc and then OK (it may already be listed in the drop down menu).System File Checker box will then open. Configure it for what you require and then click Start.SFC will reveal any missing or corrupt files and allow you to reinstall them as it progresses through its checks.
