Windows 98 fails to shut down

  GA15 08:56 21 Mar 2004

Periodically when I shut down Win98, I get to the windows logo and the message"Windows is shutting down". The computer then hangs until I reboot. This has only started recently and I wonder if some file has been deleted or become corrupted. Any idea please

I believe from memory that this is a known problem and there is a patch on the microsoft web site
