Windows 8 Refresh- Reinstalling Applications

  michael.mcgrade 19:38 04 Dec 2013

I intend on refreshing my laptop running on Windows 8.1 but I have a very large amount of applications on my PC that I have downloaded from the internet (for example World of Warcraft). With a very slow internet speed and the warning message stating that I will lose all desktop application but saying I will still keep all of my data, does that mean I will lose the applications entries in the Windows registry or will the .exe's simply disappear? I have thoroughly searched the web for a solution and have come to the conclusion that I will not lose the actual application. Although, some clarity from anyone with a bit more tech savvy or someone who has gone through with a Windows 8 refresh before would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Michael.
