windows 7 missing beeps

  susiepops 10:48 31 Oct 2009

With Vista it was possible to create a beep from the internal speaker when hitting the caps lock key in error.

In windows 7 a beep is sounded when speakers are turned on but not through the internal speaker when speakers are off.

Is there a way around this?

I haven't used W7 as yet, but I would have thought that you can switch on the caps-lock beep for the internal speaker in a similar way:

Start - Control Panel - Accessibility Options - Keyboard Tab - Check 'Use ToggleKeys'

Open the "Ease Of Access Centre" (Just type ease in search box)
Select make the keyboard easier to use
choose turn on toggle keys

you would think this would work but unfortunately not. Toggle key is on and I have also tried holding down number lock both without success.

Works ok on mine. Just a thought open the volume mixer and make sure the system sounds are enabled and the volume is up.
