Windows 2003 server

I've been lucky enough to get a second hand uniwide 3346 server, with 16g RAM and 4 quad processors. I've read enough to know that I'll need windows server 2003 o/s to see all the memory and processors, but will I be able to run PC games, microsoft office and the like on this o/s?

have you tried to run xp or confirmed that you would need to run server 2003?

Hi Ashley. Will XP see all 16gb of RAM and 4 quad processors? If it will, I'll give it a try...

Neither XP Pro or Server 2003 will see 16Gb memory, the maximum for both is 4Gb.
Unless you can get hold of a copy of the Enterpise edition of W2k3, which will not be easy now.

The maximum for the standard edition of w2k3 is 4Gb.
Depending on cofiguration the Standard edition may be able to see the four processors.

I have Office 2003 installed on an old server still running w2k3 and it works. As for games, I have no idea.
