Window 'You Should Not See Me'

Well it must my week for weird snags.

When I shutdown or reboot XP Pro SP2, sometimes I glimpse a window pop up that says 'You Should Not See Me'.

Then the machine either Shuts Down or Re-Boots whatever I've asked it to do.

Having Googled it seems that this is benign.

But WHAT IS IT, does anyone know?

Hi -

If you see the "should not see" message at shutdown, it just means that a
program or driver was slow to release during shutdown. To see this message
once in a while is not serious and can be safely ignored. If it starts
happening at every shutdown, try and track this down to its owner - a
program or driver. Look for a name in the title bar of the message or check
Event Viewer for clues.

Cheers.

i had this a while back and i thought it was dodgy..but whatever the problem was its gone now and nothing drastic has happened to my p.c.. regards akanic

I've actually been experimenting with a fair amount of cover disk and other software so my laptop probably doesn't know if it's punched, drilled or countersunk anyway.

Thanks for the info, and I'll look at the bar, problem is, it's so damn quick (and I'm NOT)

Stand by with the 'pause' key when it is due to appear.

The culprit was : CiceroUIWndFrame

It's part of the Microsoft Office 2003 suite, to do with speech and handwriting recognition.

It causes a hang with Outlook and possibly XP OS when it shutsdown.

It's covered in the MS Help sites, but with no real help.

If you do a Google search of that term, you'll find loads of stuff on it including how to de-select it.

Working nicely now

Great - all's well that ends well.

Cheers.
