Congratulations - you just discovered a basic flaw in the way TFT monitors work - vis-a-vis how Windows handles display screens, :-((

I suggest you actually try it at 800x600 that you are used to. Some monitors are not too bad at handling non-native resolutions (some are pretty awful).

Set up the display properties for Clear Type and see how it goes.

I've read that the next version of Windows (Vista) will solve this problem by uncoupling resolution from dislay size.

is there no way to go into the reg and change the text size

if you have a wheel mouse you could try holding down control and scroll with wheel, alternatively tools i/net options/accessability and put a tick in ignore font sizes on certain webpages.

Drag the sides of the IE window to fill the screen.

Close using File | Close.

The next time it should open full size.

no thats not what i,m meaning the page is full size its the web sites page size thats not filling the desktops page if that makes sense i was thinking i could get explorer to open at 800x 600 resolution instead of my desktop 1024x728

You mean like click here ?

That's because the page is designed for 800x600 and there isn't anything you can do to change it as far as I am aware.
