Win XP in reboot cycle

Hi All,

I am sorry, but I cannot provide too much detail for this problem.

My daughter has a PC [don't know make or model, just that it was recently purchased from PC World] and last night got a warning from Norton saying that it had prevented a worm from loading - although she didn't make a note of the name. She was not online at the time but it transpired that MS Messenger auto-loaded on boot up. She has now removed this via MSCONFIG, but the system seems to be in a constant loop of rebooting without loading windows.

I don't know the make or spec of the PC, but can I get into Windows safety mode to see what has happened and try to correct this?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Regards,

Paul
