I've had a virus this week which I've now sorted but I'm missing some of the items/folders on the start menu. Accessories for example is now missingHow do I repair them ?
Found these, do they help?click hereclick here
Go to Start, Run, type Shell:Common Start Menu and press Enter.Make room on the screen for another explorer folder and type Shell:Start Menu and press EnterNow you should be able to drag items from one folder to the other.
Are you sure the virus has been removed completely? Can you tell us which one it was and how you removed it?These things have an irritating habit of turning up again repeatedly.
Tried all the solutions above & still no accessories on the menu. The first virus was a Trojan Horse (un-named) & a second virus called Antivirus 2009 which NIS 2008 dealt with.Details @click hereCan I re-install the accessories start menu links from my original windows XP CD to solve this ?
Yes click here
Maybe try this.click here
Update, I now have accessories on the first menu but no sub-menu etcHowever if I double click accessories on this first menu I get a folder view with all the items in it ! - how do I get this to show as a sub-menu instead of a folder ?
Anyone know how I can rebuild the Accessories sub-menu in XP Pro ?
