Win ME or XP

I will shortly be purchasing a new PC but have some issues regarding the OS. Currently I use Win 98SE. With XP I can get drivers for my scanner and printer but it is the software that I am unsure of.

I have Microsoft Office 97 and Office 2000 update, Easy CD Creater 5.02 and Norton AntiVirus 2001. I can buy AntiVirus 2003. Does anyone have problems running the other two on XP. I can update Easy CD to version 5.3.4 off the web site.

Should I use ME or XP. My main priority is if I can run Office and Easy CD on XP.

You will have absolutely no regrets with Win XP it is the most stable OS Microsoft has ever produced. However you will need Norton 2003 as 2001 will not run on XP.

Why not consider dual booting?

rather have one OS than dual boot. Just need to know if anyone with XP has OFfice 97, then Office 2000 and Easy CD 5.02 (can download 5.3.4).

I have Windows XP and run both Office 2000 and Easy CD Creator 5 with no problems. You will however have to update CD Creator which removes Take Two which I never liked anyway. When you install XP don't forget to use NTFS when you format your harddrive. Also any Norton Software has to be 2002 onwards and winfax Pro has to be version 10 onwards
