We are in process of trying to get a new machine up and running, windows me loads fine, we load all the mobo drivers and onboard graphices etc, everything apears to run fine for awhile then windows "loses" all the drivers. we have sort of determined that the user.dat file maybe corrupted however when we do a file search it cannot find it. Any ideas??

Are you selecting to search for hidden files?

Yes we have, we have now reloaded all drivers etc and found the file 138kb in size, done reboot and everything has gone again!!!, we have tried reloading windows etc even tried over the w/end a complete reformat and start from scratch but still the same, sys restore has been disabled (in case that was prob) really starting to bug us as we need this machine up and running asap, also we have noticed that in add/remove programmes nothing is showingat all.
