Win 98SE wont boot

When starting up I get the HP logo then only a DOS prompt (no drive letter only the flashing curser)

I am absolutley lost about using DOS commands so if anyone has an idea about what to do it will need to be an idiots guide.

BTW problem occured while trying to install Acronis secure zone

Set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive click here and boot with your Windows CD in the drive. IMPORTANT: This may lose your documents etc.

just type

scanreg /restore

and press enter

Tried that did not work opions shown included new install or something else don't want to re format BTW 98SE

Nope no nothing shows on the screen except the DOS prompt
