I have just reformatted the hard drive on an old computer. On reinstalling win98se it is asking for the product key which I do not have (I have a hand written number which it rejects). Is there any way around this problem?
What is needed is a 25 alphanumeric code. Check your handwriting for possible mistakes, e.g. Vs and Ys can easily be mistaken.
And Zs for 2s.
Thanks guys - I've tried all combinations of possible errors in my handwriting. Guess I'll need to find another copy of the CD with a valid number!
You could always do a search on google for a key generator, or look on ebay for a coa for win98.
