I bought a 1GB USB 2.0 flash drive (SumVision / niKKin SV-U89) to move files between computers with different operating systems: Windows XP and Win 98 SE. It is immediately recognised in XP but not so in Win 98SE, requiring a driver. Anyone operating this flash drive succesfully in Win 98 SE or with any suggestions? SumVision's website doesn't include a driver or contact details.
I have another 1GB USB 2.0 'Viking' Flash Drive which works O.K. once I obtained a driver from the manufacturer's web site. MSWindows USB 2 is operational within my Win98SE OS and I have a 'Belkin' PCI card (with Belkin USB2.0 drivers) providing 5 x USB 2.0 ports.
USB Flash Drive driver not found on Windows 98SE installation disk nor will the driver for my 1GB USB 2.0 'Viking'flash drive work. Tried the drivers from XP but Win98SE wasn't having any of that either. For you 'Techies' the 'Device Instance id' taken from XP Device Mgr is: USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_MEMORY&PROD_USB2.0&REV_1.00\3048&0. I'm now at a complete loss what to try next.
Thanks skidzy, already registered with DriverGuide so downloading the suggested 256MB SumVision Mass Storage driver was easy but alas, my 1GB SV-U89 would not respond. clearly a similar, but specific SumVision driver is required.
