I need to remove too many startup programmes on my daughters PC

Use Autoruns - carefully......

Ooooppps. Unchecking the box next to the entry will disable that entry. Hitting delete on that entry removes the entry permanently.

OwenLotts:
Thank you very much for that. Will that programme also take me boot options. In xp I get an option to choose Load all drivers, or not.

No it won't.

XP's msconfig works perfectly in Windows 2000. The download at ßéLâ's link is the XP's msconfig.

For managing startup applications, I think other utilities are better. Another one to try is Mike Lin's Startup Control Panel click here a very good tool.

I would use XP's msconfig for the other things it offers (such as the boot.ini tab), but use another application to manage startup applications.
