Will a wired router still work if I sign up to a wireless deal?

Is it still possible to use a wired router if desired when you have signed up to a wireless connection.

I ask because I am currently with BT broadband and use my own Netgear wired router (BT voyager kept overheating) and it is important for me not to lose connection for my work.

I am moving home soon and was thinking of signing up to BT wireless broadband but if I get disconnection problems I would like to option to be abe to use a wired router.

The ADSL service enabled on your phone line will be no different whether you ultimately connect your computers "wirelessly" or by ethernet cable. In basic terms, a wireless router is one which additionally incorporates a Wireless Access Point, so there shouldn't be any reason why you cannot continue to use your preferred "wired" router.

I had hoped that would be the case but thought I should check.

Thank-you for that clear reply.

You have a little chance of interference, but is quite low ;)
